The Communications Director will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages to consistently articulate Narrative of Hope's mission. The Communications Director will ensure that Narratives of Hope is viewed as a primary source of information and training on mental health issues. The Communications Director will work closely with the President, Vice President and COO on a variety of strategic initiatives.

All positions at Narratives of Hope are currently on an unpaid volunteer basis.


  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications plan across Narratives of Hope

  • Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities

  • Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic content including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures

  • Mentor and lead a communications team

  • Manage all media contacts

Key Qualifications

  • Have or is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, psychology, social work or related fields. (Preferred)

  • Ability to build and maintain a media contact list

  • Outstanding written communication and presentation skills, specifically with press releases.

  • Friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude.

  • Strong knowledge of social media and other basic marketing platforms.

  • Detail-orientated with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
